Activities – Gaming and Games

  • Affix a mini playing card to each name tag. Challenge guests to present themselves in a group to show a winning poker hand for prizes.
  • Upon their arrival, give each guest a fixed amount of “funny money" or chips. Make sure your guests know the “value” of the chips if they’re not plainly marked.  (You can make up signs near each gaming area with a chip glued to the poster and the value clearly marked next to it for easy reference.)
  • Hire some help or enlist some volunteers to serve as dealers and croupiers.

REFRESHMENTS – FOOD AND DRINK BEST BETS

  • Finger foods work best here since folks won’t want to take time from “the action” to eat.  But use gambling-themed paper products to keep their mind on the game.
  • Costume your servers to match your casino’s decor.
  • Use cardboard cutouts of suits (heart, diamond, club and spade) as trivets for your buffet table.
  • Make colored Jell-O squares.  Use cake decorating products to turn them into “dice” or card suits.
  • Serve heaping trays of foil-covered chocolate or candy coins.

  • Real or toy dice are always a good bet.
  • A rabbit’s foot will make your guests feel lucky long after they have left your casino.
  • Crafty types can make souvenir refrigerator magnets (available at craft stores) using mini playing card and dice.
  • Use your casino backdrop and take a souvenir instant or digitial photo and put into a frame for your high rollers to keep.

Decorations – Creating Your Casino

  • Replace the faces of the King, Queen or Jack on playing cards or on oversized money with the image of the host(s) or guest of honor or party host(s) that you've printed on self-stick paper (available at office supply stores).
  • Have your dealers and croupiers dress in white shirts, bow ties, paper vest with and eye shades or a derby hat and they’ll be part of the decor.
  • Get posters from your travel agent of places like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno and Monte Carlo.
  • Sprinkle your space with casino, dice or gambler helium or air-filled Mylar or latex balloons.
  • It's easy to personalize your casino chips by scanning in a photo of your guest(s) of honor or party host(s), dollar value or a logo you created for your casino on your computer. Print on small, round stickers (available at office supply stores) and affix to your chips.
  • There will be giggles and grins when you outfit your powder room with money-printed toilet tissue.

REFRESHMENTS – FOOD AND DRINK BEST BETS

·        Give your guests a glow when you pour their drinks into glowing glasses or add glowing ice cubes or glowing straws to their beverages.

·        Virtually every Vegas casino has a buffet. Dress up your dishes with a Vegas Nights, Suit Yourself, Poker Party or Elvis themed casino paper products. You can use the entire themed line or mix and match with solid-color paper products.

  • If you'd like, match the food to the theme. If your decor is a Roman Empire theme, serve Italian food; Polynesian, serve Crab Rangoon or Coconut shrimp, New Orleans, serve Cajun, a New York theme, serve deli.
  • Make up flatware packets with a money print bandana napkin tied to a glowing beaded bracelet, glowing rope bracelet, or blinking dice beads.
  • While gambling is surely the main attraction, you might want to set up a “lounge” for conversation and a floor show.  A karaoke setup would be perfect if you want your guests to be part of the show. At the least, make sure there's music to move the crowd.
  • More than just a drink container, this casino mug makes a great party favor.
